Mark's NEW Hepplewhite-style Game Table blends the time-honored elements of fine furniture with the game table form.
Mark's design was inspired by George Hepplewhite -- who was a cabinet and chair maker known for his
distinctive style of light, elegant furniture that was fashionable between about 1775-1800. Along with Thomas Sheraton and Thomas Chippendale, he was one of the "big three" English furniture makers of the 18th century. Reversible Game Board: The game board is reversible - chess/checkers on one side, backgammon on the other. The squares are made of maple alternating with ebony.
Compass Rose Inlay: The game table top features a compass rose inlay - one on each side of the game board - of satinwood and ebony.
Diamond-shaped Inlay: At the top of each of the four, tapered legs are diamond-shaped inlay made of satinwood.
Satinwood Cuffs: At the base of each of the four, tapered legs are inlaid satinwood cuffs.
Ebony Escutcheon: On the apron of the table is an ebony escutcheon - this is a decorative element surrounding the keyhole.
