Flame Birch Blanket Chest

"Flame Birch" gets it name from its brilliant grain. Stunning in person, this wood comes alive before your eyes with its fluid, flame-like movement.

As an added touch, Mark took extra care to provide a "continuous grain" effect, so that the pattern of the wood grain flows around the front and sides of the chest. This chest is spectacular -- like none other you've seen.

Like Mark's other blanket chests, Mark built this chest using traditional joinery -- solid dovetailed joints at every corner. And, the lid is attached using a special "lid stay" which allows the lid to gently lower itself closed rather than slamming shut.
